SM64 discussion topic. Talk about this game and the DS one as well here.

SM64: Awesome on every aspect.
SM64DS: Shitty Gameplay, but the Mini-Games are great.

SM64 is undoubtedly my favourite Mario game of all time, with Galaxy 2 being a close 2nd.

It's a real shame that the sequel was cancelled before it even saw the light of day. It's even more of a shame that there hasn't been another Mario game quite like it, ever. Sunshine was close, but FLUDD changed the gameplay too much and the levels all being the same bland Island theme.

The Galaxy games were so close to being a true successor, but the linearity. Oh god the linearity.

Then other linear Mario's happened. NSMB, NSMBW, SM3DL, NSMB2, NSMBU and now 3D World.

Super Mario 64's never gonna get a worthy successor because Nintendo's too scared to take risks. :(

I have to agree with you, SM64 is the only Mario Platformer, which gives players all the freedom through all Levels, which enables them to end a Level the way they want.
The Galaxy series, for example, were like, you just go over there, but there's no way back, so get that God Damn Star already!

You have got a good point about Super Mario Sunshine.

I do like the N64 game, especially the graphics and music. The DS one is OK... but it''s worse because the controls are somewhat annoying on normal DS's (anything other than 3DS or 3DS XL) and the textures are not as good. But at least you can play as Luigi in the DS one.

Werid model? The hell are you talking about. That model is beautiful. It showed what the N64 could handle.

I've put this on the computer in my room. But I need a save file with 69 stars because I want to do the BLJ on the 'endless' stairs while they're still 'endless'. Most of the time I use Mupen64 to play this game and other N64 games.

OFFTOPIC: I now have NO$GBA 2.7 and DeSmuME 0.9.9.
