Interesting. Some questions:

Isn't number 2 used in the file select screen? What are the filenames+types (and locations if possible). Was this found with a RAM dump?

No, I have a .3DS, .CCI, and .CIA ROM, right now.
They're all in the LayoutData Folder, but I can't remember the exact SZS Files, though.
I'll provide the ROM within the next few hours, you should be able to play around with it, then.

Excellent news! Is it a good dump and is the tool used going to be released? :P

I've been trying to document the final's object names/purposes, and I look forward to comparing them with this Proto's objects info.

It's a good Dump, and I'm trying to get a Retail CIA Version working.
Once the latter one is done, I'll make it all Public.

What do you mean by a "Retail CIA"? Do you mean one that Nintendo made?

I think she means a CIA of a physical software, rather than a digital one.

Retail cia : CIA that only works in Retail consoles
Dev CIA: (the one that MKGirlism has) CIA that only works on dev 3ds.
Conversion is possible, but it can be difficult sometimes.

Pablo knows the right Answer: By "Retail ROM", I mean, a ROM that can be played, on a Retail 3DS.

I remember back when the game was announced as "Super Mario". It showed Mario in some sort of open space that doesn't remind me of anything I saw on the actual game.

So, digging into the game, there are two early level designs. One is for 7-2, and the other is for 8-5. Other than that, there is nothing of the scrapped levels in the game.

That is unfortunate, but luckily there are other thing to compare, as well as those. :P

@MKGirlism

What happens when you wait at the level select or the pause screen for a long time?

Just for references purpose, I'm assuming we're talking about the rom that was at the development state of e3 2011.

I don't know what "at the development state of e3 2011" means.

It is not the same version used to record that trailer.

It is the same version that was used at E3 2011 kiosks.
