I have a TCRF page going for this as well. I need to convert the images I've dumped, but I have a lot of the same stuff you do. I also still need to grab caps of the models, like the fire flower and whatnot, but there's so much to do still.

Would you mind if I made use of the images you posted? Also, how did you get your audio to not have crackling in them? All my .bcstm files have crackling in them and it sounds terrible.

You can use absolutely anything that I put here or on that shoutwiki page. You don't have to give credit.

 

For some reason Every File Explorer's bcstm feature can play and export them properly, but vgmstream cannot.

 

BTW:

Could you try out:

swapping one of unused stage files with one of the used levels, and putting in the needed ObjectData files from the final game?

I assume, that wouldn't be as easy as you describe.
In Mario Kart 7, you'll need to Export the BCMDL, Save it as CMDL with Maya (fucks up Textures!), Rename its Internal Name to match the SZS File, and Import it into the desired SZS File.
Since Super Mario 3D Land seems to follow the exact same Structure, you'd probably have the same issue.

Besides, SM3DL splits the Levels up into different Files, for a weird reason.

Okay. That will mean that we will need to understand the BYMLs to hack/replace levels, I guess. (And maybe a bit more about these NARCs (unless they are completely the same as DS NARCs).

Those aren't NARC Files, SZS Files are SARC Files, but Nintendo Randomly decided to Rename it to "SZS", because it's fun.

Your right. One of the versions of SM3DL I have has .szs with the first few letters in the file being "Yaz0". And another version I have has .narc with the first few letters in the file being "NARC".

 

I wonder what this NARC version is? Maybe the person who sent it to me converted the SARCs to NARCs, or maybe this is the digital version.

Well, using a ROM that MKGirlism gave me a while back (I do not plan to distribute this ROM, so don't ask please), I found some unused sequenced audio in the game. Feel free to peek at the TCRF page and listen to the audio!
